Manage multiple iSeries systems and all your Robot automation from one place

Managing multiple iSeries systems can be difficult and you need help to stay in control. Robot/NETWORK allows you to manage all your systems from a single point.

Monitor networks containing multiple iSeries hosts
Use Robot/NETWORK to monitor a network of multiple iSeries, configured as Hosts and Nodes. Within the same network, configure a chain of Hosts for status escalation. A product on a Node sends a status to the Node’s Host. If no one on the Host responds to the status, or if the Host is unavailable, Robot/NETWORK escalates the status to the next Host in the chain for a response. This process continues until someone responds, or the chain of Hosts ends.

Monitor all of your applications
Robot/NETWORK can monitor all of your applications, on all iSeries in your network. Just define your user applications to Robot/NETWORK and code the Robot/NETWORK Send Status (RBNSNDSTS) command into your programs. Status information from the applications displays on the Robot/NETWORK Status Center.

Send instructions and other information to remote iSeries
Use Robot/NETWORK to instruct your remote iSeries so they can operate independently and unattended. The following Robot Automated Operations Solution products have a FREE Robot/NETWORK Product Master that you can use to store and distribute product instructions for networked iSeries systems:

* The Robot/CONSOLE Master sends setup information and message instructions to each remote copy of Robot/CONSOLE.

* The Robot/MONITOR Master collects and reports performance statistics for each iSeries in the network.

* The Robot/REPORTS Master sends report sets, laser commands, OPerator Assistance Language (OPAL) tables, and distribution lists to each remote copy of Robot/REPORTS.

* The Robot/SAVE Master allows you to enter backup instructions for each remote copy of Robot/SAVE.

* The Robot/SCHEDULE Master sends job schedules, job setups, report distribution, and error recovery procedures to each remote copy of Robot/SCHEDULE.

* The Robot/UPS Master sends power failure and restoration procedures to each remote copy of Robot/UPS.

Control your network from a single display
Robot/NETWORK lets you monitor the status of your entire network from a single PC display. Both individual iSeries and distribution lists of multiple systems are represented graphically as icons on the Status Center window. The icon's color indicates the system's status:

* RED: The iSeries needs immediate attention.
* YELLOW: A warning status.
* BLUE: Operational information is available for the iSeries.
* CLEAR: The iSeries has no unacknowledged statuses.

Display multiple customized windows
When you select a distribution list icon, Robot/NETWORK opens a secondary window showing the iSeries systems on that list. You can display any number of windows, sized and arranged within a frame. Robot/NETWORK arranges its icons automatically for “best fit” within the window. You can customize each window with its own background, such as a geographic map. Many maps are supplied FREE with Robot/NETWORK.

Access systems immediately from your PC
When you want additional information about a remote iSeries in a primary or secondary window, just double-click on its icon or within the network tree. You can collapse or expand your view of the network, or a portion of it, by clicking on the Hosts or Nodes within the tree.

Additional features
* The Product dialog box displays the product or application that sent the status. You can see a status display, or use the Display Link feature to access the product menu on the remote iSeries.

* The Status Center window allows you to access the Product Masters, set up network information, print reports, and perform other Robot/NETWORK functions.

* If a problem is not acknowledged within a specified time, Robot/ALERT sends a pager message. If the status remains unacknowledged, Robot/NETWORK escalates it to a new Host that you have specified.
