Get A Handle On Your Network Devices

With routers, Web sites, servers, firewalls, security equipment, and countless other devices and applications in your network--not to mention those in other states or countries--how do you monitor them all successfully? Let's see…

  • You need an SNMP event notification monitor.
  • You need a way to convert and display SNMP event notifications.
  • You need a way to check the status of your critical devices at regular intervals.
  • You need to find out quickly if a device or application is unresponsive.
  • You need Robot/TRAPPER.

Robot/TRAPPER Monitors SNMP Traps
Most network devices have SNMP agents running on them. The SNMP agents send event notifications, called traps, to a management system. The trap manager in Robot/TRAPPER receives the traps from your servers, PCs, Web sites, data collection devices--any device that sends SNMP traps--and converts them into iSeries messages, which can be automated using Robot/CONSOLE, Help/Systems' message management software. Robot/CONSOLE escalates the messages according to your established protocol so emergencies are always handled properly.

Robot/TRAPPER Monitors Devices
Robot/TRAPPER allows you to proactively check the status of (ping) any device that has an IP address. Once your time clocks, intranet sites, shipping scales, environmental monitoring devices--anything with an IP address--are defined to Robot/TRAPPER, you can ping them at regular, predetermined intervals.

Combined with the "always running" reliability of the iSeries, you can rest easy because Robot/ TRAPPER is monitoring all your network devices, all over the world.

Robot/TRAPPER Monitors Device Statuses
If a network device or application does not respond to a ping, Robot/TRAPPER uses Robot/CONSOLE to notify you. Assign your critical devices the highest ping priority so they are pinged more frequently. When a critical device is unavailable, you'll know immediately and can respond accordingly.

Your network monitoring software doesn't do much good if it runs on an unstable platform. Robot/TRAPPER capitalises on the unmatched reliability of the iSeries. Order a FREE information kit online. Or, Contact Us for further information.
